Skydiving in Dubai

Skydiving was never, let me say that again, NEVER on my bucket list! I didn’t even dare put it in there coz I was a scaredy-cat when it comes to heights! Nobody could force me to ride roller coasters let alone jump out of an airplane from 10,000 feet! That’s just crazy!!! But I’ve been crazy the past few months! Lol! So…. i did it!!! I went skydiving!!! It was incredible!!!

Here’s the VLOG on how it went “down”! Lol!

After the jump, me and my friends , who also went skydiving with me, couldn’t stop talking about each other’s experiences! We were just so blown away by the experience! It also taught me a lot about life! Here are some of them 🙂

I am not who my past says I am.
I am who God says I am.

I’m a person whose always been scared of heights, so does that mean I’m always going to fear heights?! The answer is a big No!
I realized that I can breakthrough from all my fears and the negative things that had been spoken to me in the past by taking courage, and remembering the amazing things that God says about me!

Here’s one verse that I kept reminding myself when I was about to jump of the plane “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

Refuse to be trapped in the past. Don’t let the past destroy  your future. Strain forward knowing that God has great things in store for you.

Fear keeps you limited. Courage sets you free!

Fear is a liar and it will keep you limited. While we were on the ground waiting for our turn to go to the plane, fear kept on creeping in whispering things to me like “the parachute will not open, the harness might turn loose, you will faint etc etc…….” Imagine if I listen to those things?! I wouldn’t have experienced the freedom that courage brings! I wouldn’t have had a mind-blowing experience!

I love this excerpt from  A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Surround yourself with “conquerors”

There are two reasons why people don’t do things.

  • They keep telling themselves they cant do it – FEAR
  • The people around them tells them they can’t do it – PEER

I wouldn’t have jumped without the encouragement and persuasion of Jay and my other two friends (Zai and Ayana). Their braveness was contagious 😀 I call them the “fear conquerors”

It’s really important who you surround yourself with as who you spend your time with has a great impact on your life.
So make sure you surround yourself with people who encourages you to dream, motivates you to do good things and inspire to make you better! 🙂
